45 Edition

The XLV Edition of the Italian Conference on Integrated River Management (ICIRBM) took place at the University of Calabria on 17 and 18 June 2024.
Fifty-four communications were presented in this Edition, to which 197 co-authors from 41 public and private institutions contributed, including 23 Italian universities, 6 foreign universities, the CNR and the Southern Apennines District Basin Authority.
The communications document the rich research activity taking place in Italy in the field of river basin management, in the broadest sense introduced with law 183/1989, which included the defence against erosion, floods and landslides, water reclamation, management of water resources for rational economic and social development and the protection of the environmental aspects connected to them.
The works presented are the result of the activities of individual research groups but also of larger networks created at a national level to address the issues covered by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) or those even more specific but equally rich in collaborations such as example the one on the vulnerability of bridges.
The Proceedings of the Conference have been published in the Forty-fifth Volume of the Series “Technologies for Integrated River Basin Management – Tecniche per la Difesa del Suolo e dall’Inquinamento” (ISBN: 978‐88‐97181‐90‐3 – ISSN 2282‐5517).
